Your oral hygiene routine is essential for a top-notch oral health and smile. However, an improper routine isn’t very helpful, and having questions about brushing (or any other part of your routine) can lead to the improper routine. So, if you have questions about brushing your teeth, our dentist, Dr. Christopher Bernardini, is more than happy to help you find the answers by giving you the answers to commonly asked questions about brushing.
Why do I need to brush my teeth?
Brushing helps you remove food particles, bacteria, and plaque from your teeth. So, in other words, it helps you prevent dental issues, like tooth decay and gum disease, and it helps you avoid having a food-filled smile.
How often should I brush my teeth?
It’s important to brush your teeth twice a day. Many people like to brush every morning and every night.
How should I brush my teeth?
You should use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Put the paste on the brush’s bristles and hold the brush at a 45-degree angle to the gums. When you’re ready, scrub each tooth in your mouth with a circular motion. Scrub the outside, top, and inside of each tooth. As you clean the inside, tilt the brush vertically and scrub up and down. Make sure you clean your entire smile for two minutes.
